Is it scary? It depends which room you pick

It is the question we get most on the phone, so we answer it here. We have two rooms and only one of them is horror.

The Medieval Dungeon is not a horror room. It is a historical adventure: the Inquisition captures you and you have 90 minutes to get out. There is tension and there is a live actor, but there are no jump scares. It is the one we recommend if someone in your group would rather not have a bad time.

Haunted House is horror, and it has three modes. In Investigator mode you go in to solve the case of an abandoned house with nobody chasing you. High Tension raises it. And in Fear mode a second actor joins, for a supplement of €18 per booking. You choose the mode when you book, and you can change it by talking to us.

Haunted House was nominated for best horror experience by the Escape Room Awards, and The Medieval Dungeon was a TERPECA finalist.

What you will find inside

We would rather say it beforehand:

• Darkness. In Haunted House the first third is played with torches, and there are total blackouts lasting a few seconds. In The Medieval Dungeon you start almost in the dark and then there is dim torchlight. You also go in blindfolded during the opening transfer.
• Sound. Bangs, impacts and sudden effects. We can turn the volume down if you ask.
• Lights. Blackouts and brief flickers. We do not use strobe lighting.
• Smoke and sparks. Smoke effects lasting a few seconds. Haunted House uses cold sparks, with no combustion and no heat. Nothing is scented.
• Physical contact. Only in High Tension and Fear mode. It can be switched off for the whole group or for one person.

All of this can be toned down or removed if you tell us beforehand: by phone, in the booking comments or when you arrive. Also during the game. You can leave the room at any moment: the game master opens immediately and every door has an emergency button beside it.

If anyone in the group is unsure whether these effects suit them, that is their decision and, if needed, their doctor’s. We tell you what is there and adapt what we can.

How many of us can play?

Both rooms play from 2 people, with no surcharge for being few.

If you are a large group: both rooms run at the same time, so 13 people can play in parallel — 7 in Haunted House and 6 in The Medieval Dungeon — and come out together. If you are 14 or 15, call us: it can be done, but it is worth us explaining how it affects the game first. And if there are more of you, we run back-to-back sessions: we reset the room in 15 to 20 minutes and the next group goes in.

For company groups and team building we ask for 72 hours’ notice and a minimum of 4 people, and we issue an invoice with VAT.

Can we come with children?

Yes, and it is one of the plans that works best here. With two specific conditions:

• Under 15s play accompanied: either an adult goes in with them, or you book our extra game master-monitor for €25 per booking. The monitor goes in dressed as a character from the story, gives them a hand, guides them and keeps an eye on them. They do not take up a place: if an accompanying adult goes in instead, that adult does take a place and pays.
• From 15 to 17 they play on their own, with no signed authorisation.

For groups aged 12 to 16, which is what we host most, the natural choice is The Medieval Dungeon or Haunted House in Investigator mode: tension and adventure, no scares.

What does it cost?

The price is per booking, not per person, and VAT is included:

• The Medieval Dungeon: from €82 (2 players) to €132 (6 players).
• Haunted House: from €84 (2 players) to €147 (7).
• Fear mode: €18 more per booking, not per person.

The more of you there are, the less it costs each: seven people in Haunted House works out at €21 each. Two people in The Medieval Dungeon, €41.

When booking you can pay in full or just the deposit: €20 for The Medieval Dungeon and €30 for Haunted House. The rest is paid at the venue; we prefer cash, though we also take cards. Full conditions are in the booking policy.

Booking, languages and access

You can only play with a booking. Session times for each room and the free slots for each day are in the booking calendar, which is where real availability is shown.

Games run in English or Spanish, and you do not need to tell us in advance. Only if you want both languages at once —when the group is mixed— let us know when you book.

On access: there are no stairs and no steps, neither to get into the building nor inside the rooms. There are two low passages — one metre wide and 1.20 m high — which are not compulsory: in The Medieval Dungeon another player opens an alternative route with a key, and in Haunted House you keep taking part from the previous room. If anyone in the group has reduced mobility or uses a wheelchair, tell us beforehand and we will adapt it; they will be able to live the experience, although they will not do exactly the same actions as the rest. We can take one wheelchair per group, and a narrow manual chair works better than a powered one.
